How to Find Us
- Olmstedville is located in the
eastern Adirondacks about 60 miles south of Lake Placid, and 90 miles
north of Albany between North Creek and Schroon Lake.
From Albany and the
south, take the Northway (I-87) north to Exit 26 Pottersville.
Turn left off the exit then right at the Black Bear on to Rt. 9 north.
Drive into Pottersville, bear left at the Well's House and proceed 5.8
miles north to Troutbrook Road. It is a sharp right hand turn at a
large white house with a horse barn. We are down this road about 1/2
mile on the left. (About one mile north out of Pottersville there is
another Troutbrook. That isn't us.)
From the north,
( If you are coming from Schroon Lake the
bridge is out, ignore the detour sign from the Olmstedville side )
take the Northway (I-87) north to Exit 26 Pottersville. Off the ramp, turn left. When you reach a big yellow sign at a T intersection, turn right. You will start to come into Pottersville and you will go under I87 take the next right. Proceed 5.8 miles north to Troutbrook Road. You now will be traveling on the Olmstedville Pottersville rd. You will come through some S turns and start to come into the town of Olmstedville. Traveling on the same Rd you will come down a big hill and meet a right hand turn on Trout brook rd. We are .5 miles on the left.
From Utica and the west,
leave the NYS Thruway at Utica and take Rt. 8 to Weavertown and turn
left onto Rt. 28, drive to North Creek where you turn right onto Rt.
28N. After about 5 miles (watch for the Rt. 87 signs) turn right at
the Olmstedville sign, go through Olmstedville's four corners and look
for Owl At Twilight on the left. Troutbrook Road is a soft left turn.
There is a large white house with a horse barn on the corner of the
road.
